It is the most unique blood that ever flowed through anyone*s veins. The shedding of Christ*s blood was necessary since it is the only adequate cleansing agent for our sin. Our blood is not a cleansing agent. It is a stain that is difficult to clean up. Our blood can be replaced. We give and receive life-saving transfusions of it. Our blood is dispensable. The blood of Christ is indispensable for our salvation. Our physical blood type is determined by our father. Our spiritual blood type is also determined by our father. Here is the spiritual blood type we mortals inherit: SINFUL and full of death! Here is Jesus* spiritual blood type: SINLESS and full of life! We inherit our sinful blood type from our sinful fathers. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Genesis teaches that the Saviour would be the seed of the woman. Jesus had no earthly father therefore His blood type was determined by God the Father. If He had had an earthly father His blood would not be sinless. It would not be a cleansing agent. It would be a stain. Genesis 3:15: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.Many individuals and entire churches find the references to blood in the Bible distasteful. Many churches are removing mentions of blood from their hymns. They do not believe that the blood of Christ is precious and indispensable. If my church did that I would find another church. A criticism of the Christian church by the Pagans in the first few hundred years after Christ founded it was that the Christians were a bunch of cannibals. John 6:53: Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Receiving Jesus as Saviour is not a cannibalistic act, it is a spiritual act. Understanding the efficacy of the blood of Christ and the spiritual nature of its application to man are two things that have always separated genuine believers from the phonies. In devaluing the blood of Christ, many churches are going the way of the pagans. John 10:17-18: Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.1 Peter 1:18-19: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Leviticus 17:11: For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Hebrews 9:22: And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.Revelation 1:5: And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Romans 5:9: Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.Ephesians 1:7: In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 1 Peter 1:2: Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.1 John 1:7: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. |
